Early Christmas Shoppers Alert

If you are looking for a great Christmas present for your book lover, we have a special deal for the whole month of November for you. When you spend $20.00 cash at our store in Waltham, you will be entitled to select a Hidden Secrets bookcover at 10% off. Currently our bookcovers sell for $11.99, well below what you can purchase them for from the manufacturer. We also have several other gift items that are well within your tight budgets in this poor economy. So hurry in and start saving.

The attractive covers protect your reading privacy, which lets you enjoy your book without listening to someone make comments or tell you about it.
The soft foam lining makes book holding easier. This feature is especially popular among readers with multiple sclerosis, arthritis, or other conditions that make holdling a book difficult.
Each cover has a hook & loop closure to keep your book closed while in your handbag or briefcase. No more mangled book pages when you are commuting or traveling, and the colorful ribbon bookmark even keeps your place.
The covers protect your book from water splashes and wet hands, which makes them perfect for when you are by the pool, at the beach, or boating.
The wide variety of patterns combined with the modest price makes these covers the perfect gift for anyone who loves to read, no matter what their reading interests.

FINAL SALE!!!!! Good News, Bad News

We are having a sale on Trade Size Nora Roberts books. This will be a final sale, non-returnable set of two books by Nora for the unbelievable price of $6.00!!!! These are specially selected, wrapped with pink ribbon. That is well below the price of a single mass market size. Hurry in and get yours before they are all gone. That's the good news, now the bad news.

As of September 25, 2008, we will no longer accept Nora Roberts Trade Size books for credit, hence the sale, however we still accept her mass market size if our stock needs them. In addition, we no longer take in trade size Anthologies.

Just a note on the trade size paperbacks and the problems they can create for us. Our store was designed for mass market paperbacks, all of our bookshelves were designed to hold mass market size paperbacks, and we really are doing our best to accomodate the best of the trade size, but please understand that we are just a small store with not a lot of room for everything. Even these new size premium paperbacks, the ones that are a little larger, and cost $9.99 retail have a hard time fitting on our shelves.

Please come in and browse around our store. We have many gift items, one of a kind, fun fur scarves, beaded earrings, beaded bracelets, beaded necklaces, beaded keychains, beaded bookmarks, other bookmarks, book lights, and many other gift items. You never know what you might find at Annie's in Waltham.

A Word About Trade Size Books

In January of 2008 we implemented a new credit policy for trade size books. These are the larger size books which run from $10.95 to $24.95 jacket price. We have limited space to shelve these larger books, and they receive a larger credit. So, in order to accomodate these books, when you return them, you must spend that credit on trade size books.
I tell people "If they are coming in, they must go out". A few years ago books came in paperback and hardcover. Now, the publishers first put them in hardcover, then trade size, then the new "premium" size then the regular size. What is a small used book store to do?
My shop was designed to hold only the regular size paperback books on the shelves, and we are doing our best to accomodate these other sizes. So please make a note for yourselves that when you return trade size books for credit you need to spend the credit you receive on the trade size books. You cannot spend that credit on regular size.
Annie's Book Stop in Waltham is the only Annie's which still allows you to spend all your credit on your visit. All of the other Annie's have adopted a policy of only being allowed to spend half your credit.
I hope that you will spread the word about Annie's in Waltham. Tell your book reading friends. We don't advertise, so word of mouth is the only way we can get new customers.

NO TAX DAY-YEAH!!! NO TAX DAY-YEAH!!!

This coming Saturday and Sunday August 16th and 17th we will be having another tax free weekend. That means an extra 5% that you will save on your reading material. Don't forget-at Annie's you already save 50% on books, so that's 55% for this weekend only!!!

When you visit us next time, please take a moment to look around at all the gift items we are offering. Since my last blog update of letting you know we have original beaded earrings, made by Joanne Salvato, we now have stretchy beaded bracelets, stretchy beaded anklet bracelets, stretchy thumb/toe rings, and stretchy beaded necklaces, these stretchy jewelry items are so simple to put on and take off. I personally love them, no clasps to fidget with. I will be adding more jewelry items in the coming months. We also have lotions, fun fur scarves (also handmade), bookmarks, discount earrings, and some one of a kind gift items. Don't forget all of the artwork is original, made by Joanne Salvato(owner) and for sale which hangs on our walls.

Strapped for cash? You need to shop Annie's!! We have discount bins for books,
.50 and 1.00, you can't beat that!

I just want to mention that if you are shopping for books in the supermarkets, I have noticed lately that there are a lot of reprinted older books for sale, you might think they are new, and you will be paying full price for them, when actually they are older books, and they are available at our shop for 1/2 price. So check the dates of publishing. You might have bought it new at the supermarket, but we already have it, and probably too many of them, and so won't accept it for trade in.
